I am a girl, but I want more than just salad

They say a lot of traits skip one generation, and in many ways I tend to agree. If I could go through life with very minimum clothing without going to jail, I would and my grandmother was the same. My mom, not so much. Also, my grandmother had boxes and boxes of photos. I live in NYC, so boxes is not an option, but I do take pictures 24/7 and yes my Iphone6 has 64GB. Best investment ever.

But there is one thing that didn't skip any generation and it is unfortunate for my waist line: love for food, and dessert in particular.

My grandmother is gone, but I can still remember her sneaking out of bed and into the kitchen to have some ice cream in the middle of the night. As for my mother, she never has her afternoon coffee without some sort of sweet. I am no better. I never leave a restaurant without dessert. Doesn't matter how full I am or that half of my plate is full. I am having dessert. Even if I am the only one at the table.
my mom's latest creation with me as the pudding maker and my aunt as the head chef

However, I think I found my match at food extravaganza. Perhaps she even beats me.

A few weeks ago, while eating macaroons, my girlfriend - friend who is a girl - said she was hungry. I thought I misheard at first. One couldn't possibly be hungry while eating macaroons and having just walked out of a very lengthy brunch. But I had heard right, and even though it was pouring outside, we made our way to Blue Ribbon for some sushi. A lot of sushi. She explained to me she had two different stomachs. The savory stomach and the sweet stomach, and apparently one didn't affect the other :-)

Yesterday the multiple stomach syndrome hit again. We had a huge picnic and there was a lot of food leftover because everyone was full or so I thought. But one hour after leaving Cenral Park, while having a drink at Nespresso, my same girlfriend claimed she was hungry. I am not sure which stomach she was talking about this time around since we had both savory and sweet during the picnic :-) But she was really hungry.

So yes some girls are obsessed with greens and juicing to fit in their double zero dress, but us other girls can and love to eat. We don't all want to order a salad and drink beet juice.

Anyone else out there has multiple stomachs? :-p
