I am not "just" SINGLE

Being single is fun, but sometimes being the only single person in a group of friends can be a little tiring. It's like they forget that you are a person with a job, hobbies, dreams etc ... All they want to talk about is if you are dating or not, who you are dating and why you are not going on date number 2  etc ...

Well sometimes I don't have an answer to all of those questions, and sometimes I just don't feel like talking about it. But it doesn't matter to them. They are in a relationship, they don't get to date, so you become their Carrie Bradshaw and well, I am sure it was fun for Sarah Jessica Parker to play Carrie in Sex and the City
but it was a show and this is real life.

And the last weeks in my real life have been crazy. I have been super busy finding an apartment in NYC - not an easy task by any means - and honestly, putting together my bed, my sofa, my coffee table and my multiple dressers has been my priority over going for dinner with a semi-stranger. Call me crazy, but I felt like having a proper bed and a sofa to sit on in my living room was more of a priority than going on any kind of date.

I also flew to 5 different countries in the last month, including Tunisia for a super fun wedding, so sleep has been a scarce commodity ...

Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining. I am over excited about all of the above. I am just saying. I am 28, and yes I am single, but there is more to my life then just that right now, so chill out and stop asking me if I met my Prince Charming. I didn't.

I promise I will send a memo when I do, right after I catch up on the 36 hours of sleep I am missing, install the beautiful lamp my Dad got me for my new beautiful apartment and pack for my upcoming trip to Vietnam, Cambodia or the Philippines. Perhaps I should make up my mind about where I am going sooner rather than later too :-)
