LOL is not a comma peeps

Not too long ago, I received a text message from a friend who was definitely pissed off at me. Like 100% upset. But then she added LOL in the middle of the angry message. 


It reminded me the numerous times I received messages with a LOL that seemed out of place and I felt compelled to write this very short article. 

If someone tells you their hand is broken, don't answer "Lol how do you feel?" It is kind of rude to laugh about my painful broken hand, don't you think?

Also, if someone asks you what you are up to, don't answer "Having lunch lol." It's weird and I won't even answer. Not because I am rude, but because I am not sure what to answer to that. Same goes for answering "I feel fine lol." It is just weird. 

So Basically don't use lol like it is a comma. It is not. 



As for the whole being passive aggressive, just don't do it. It is exhausting. If you are upset, be upset and own it. Don't add LOL to your pissed off message.

Imagine dating your computer

Saturday night I went to the theater and saw the movie " HER " by director Spike Jonze and I have to say, even though I liked the movie, it could have been better if someone had introduced us before hand. I could have made it better because we could have used stuff from my book . This is the part where you think I am super full of himself for saying that a Hollywood director should collaborate with me. Rude or not?

A few weeks ago, a flight attendant working with me on a flight to India approached me and asked if she could ask me a personal question. "Sure," I replied. "Don't get me wrong, you are beautiful," she said. I remember thinking "wow it is starting really good - what will follow is going to be really bad." But it wasn't. She noticed I had acne and knew of a treatment to fix it. I laughed and told her to relax. Why would I be offended? I was thankful, and if you ever had acne, you can relate because you probably tried a million of creams and lotions, which all failed, so even a glimpse of  hope meant something. And that's exactly what Carmen gave me: HOPE. However when a stranger approached me yesterday with his business card and said to call him because he had something that would fix my skin, I was a little annoyed.
