Luggage, Girls & 2B

Yesterday, while flying back from Cancun to Minneapolis, passenger 2B approached me during boarding:

"I think I forgot my carry-on at the Business Lounge ... do you think there is way to call them ... "

I interrupted him right there, not to be rude, but because I felt the situation was urgent: "of course, we will call right away and we will do everything we can to get it here on time for departure ... "

That's when he interrupted me: "oh thats not necessary, it's just clothes, they can send it later or whenever, it's just clothes ... "

I panicked even more when I heard those words. What would he do without his clothes?

"I have plenty more at home," he said as if reading my mind. "It's really just clothes."

I wish those words would come out of my mouth just once in my life, but I don't think they ever will.
I also wish I wouldn't go into panic mode every time I had to check my bag.
And I wish I wouldn't chew my nails while staring at the carousel at baggage claim waiting for what always seems hours.
And lastly I really wish I could pack just one duffel bag for a two week getaway around the world. But  I was born  a girl. So this is what happens instead:

Now if you read my previous post Girl's Trip Complications  I know it may seem that I am hating on girls lately, and I am a girl, so either I think I am a man or I am a lunatic - a true possibility; but really I am just observing the facts: it seems us women overcomplicate everything all the time. Why do we do that?

By the way, in case you are wondering about 2B's bag, they couldn't find it at the Business Lounge or anywhere at the airport, but he made no fuss and was extremely pleasant throughout all four hours of the flight. "Hopefully someone will find it and send it to me," he said when I apologized about his lost bag. How many women reading this can say they would have reacted the same way? Ladies, be honest: what would have been your reaction?

I will start.

MY REACTION

PS: if you like thrift shops or are just adventurous, take a trip to Alabama and check out the Unclaimed Baggage Store. You will find ski gear, wedding dresses, professional cameras and even diamonds apparently. A snake was also found in a bag, but just once -:)

Safe traveling everyone and safe bags hopefully too!
