Relationship status = COMPLICATED.

I try to eat healthy, as much as I can and enjoy. I still splurge in pizza and cupcakes here and there because I don't want to be a miserable and unhappy skinny person, but thankfully I love salads and fruits so I have a pretty good diet, or so I thought. Apparently it's more complicated than I thought.

See even eating fruit is not so simple. Depending on time of consumption, fruit can be either very good or very bad for you. But after reading four different articles, I am still not clear on what timing is the right one.

One article I read said I could only eat fruit on an empty stomach, another said I have to eat it 3 hours after my meal, another said all fruit had to be eaten before noon, but then another said I could only bananas after noon if I wanted to be healthy. No more cereal and banana for breakfast. Bummer!

When had it become so complicated to eat the right food? Or to buy the right food?

A few days ago, my best friend was on the phone with her mother while grocery shopping.

"Don't buy the featherless chicken," she said. And no she was not joking. Scientists really invented a bread of featherless chickens, which they claim to be all natural.

Unnatural! And this is not even the real thing. The real thing looks atrocious.

So now on top of looking for a free of antibiotic chicken who wasn't in a cage throughout his entire short life, Charlotte also had to make sure the chicken had had feathers at some point and was organic of course, because we all love buying organic food now, don't we?

Do you also have a complicated relationship with food?
Has grocery shopping become a challenge for you too?

  1. i thought the best thing to make simple is to stop thinking about it and eat what ever i want, today for example i only took a sugar donut, an orange juice, a chocolate patisserie from laduré, a coffee with whip cream, chips barbecue a mini burger and a slice of chicken club sandwich, this is what took all the day,
i know i have to shamed of my self but i am not looool

  2. Yes, food and I are in a really unhealthy relationship. I have every intention of cooking healthy meals on a nightly basis, but sometimes I do not deliver that promise to the groceries in my fridge and heat up a Lean Cuisine instead because I feel lazy. Then I feel sad because the Lean Cuisine tastes weird, so I bake a pan of brownies for dessert. I vow to never do that to myself again. Then, I have a couple of days of healthy eating before another relapse. Maybe someday I'll get it together and learn how to be a real adult, but someday might not be anytime soon.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I would say ditch all the Lean Cusine. If you are not going to cook something healthy, just splurge in your favorite food and make it up if you can the next day, but don't bother with Lean Cuisine. It taste weird and I would be surprised if it were even that healthy. Find salads you enjoy and try to keep those ingredients in your fridge. Easy to make even when feeling lazy -:) good luck
