Don't try changing her
Girl friendships can be complicated. Maybe it's the hormones, I am not sure. Maybe we just strive off drama.
But guys definitely don't get it.
When I came back from a very agitated weekend in Paris, my boyfriend was close to falling asleep as I recounted the "dramatic" events. I use brackets because I could have been telling my boyfriend about a dog and a cat strolling on the sidewalk, and perhaps he would have been more interested.
His reaction, or should I say his non reaction, made me think.
Was I being dramatic, for nothing? How did a few text messages turn into me telling my best friend to walk away from me before I said something I would regret, in front of 50 eye witness trying to enjoy a coffee in front of the Eiffel Tower?
I don't know. If you do, enlighten me.
So since I hadn't come up with a resolution for 2014 just yet, this will be it. When a friend does something that upsets me, I will try as hard as possible to just ignore it and move on. I am not saying I will stop talking to her but no more analyzing, no more fighting, no more reasoning, no more explanations.
After all, we are all adults now, so whoever we are, that's who we will be forever. No need to try to change anybody, right?
The only exception is the boyfriend. For the boyfriend, use the REPEAT STRATEGY which consists
of 3 easy repetitive steps and 1 guaranteed result. REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT = LOSS of your VOICE -:)
