"Breaking" NEWS
A few days ago, as I was busy with important stuff, e.g. Telling the whole world I hate Mondays, uploading my blog'a post on my Facebook page, which ONE person Liked, and biting my nails, I was also glancing at the news channel.
Every time I looked up for a bit more than five seconds, there was something about Philip Seymour Hoffman's fateful heroin overdose. Sad. Very sad. But what affects us more? The Oscar-winning actor's death or the fact that a murderer escaped prison today and is on the loose? I would say the latter, and if you disagree, you are crazy.
I am usually not so bold in my blogs. I believe in that saying that there are always many sides to a story. I try to be open minded. But truly, I don't see any logical explanation to why an actor's death is more important than potentially more death caused by a murderer is on the loose. Not just a criminal, a murderer, a man who already killed, a man who shot in the head four people.
How do I know that? GOOGLE.
The news channel was too busy replaying Hoffman's friends and family saying they were too distraught by what happened to react. Interesting. Huh?
Any "news stories" lately that made you wonder: Really? What was the editor thinking? Is there even an editor?
ABOUT BOOK #2: I said I would work on any 1 paragraph on Monday, but I managed a few more and I am now working on chapter 2 I HATE SURPRISES
I wish they knew how many people change the channel after hearing about celeb deaths after the millionth time. Funny how a celeb overdoses and kills themselves (doesn't physically hurt anyone else) becomes more important than the fact that other people might die at the hand of a murderer. But oh that poor man (who is already dead)..so sad.
ReplyDeleteI guess our scattered minds are on the same page. Wonder what other controversial subject I can write about next, just to see if you agree again. Thanks for stopping by!
