The Hidden

I had this dream idea that once I moved from Miami to NYC, all doors would open up and my writing would explode.

I would meet other writers, publishers and book critics at every Manhattan bar and party and they would all be charmed by my wit, humor and sarcasm, begging to read/publish/critic anything I wrote.

Little did I know that as a struggling writer, I wouldn't be able to afford living in Manhattan. Apparently writers were not at the parties I was going to either ... So what next?

I visited bookstores ... No luck there.

I tried book events ... Aside from an autograph, it didn't get me anywhere.

Then I tried the Brooklyn Writer's space ... Overly excited that I had found THE hiding spot, but my excitement vanished when the manager whispered this was not for writers to socialize and exchange works, it was a space of SILENCE, for people who couldn't work at home.

Fortunately, I can work anywhere. Plane is my favorite. Nothing to distract me.

What's your favorite place to write?

Any advice on how to meet other writers? Since I am definitely going about it the wrong way!
