Nails Nails Nails

I don't know about you, but getting a manicure pedicure usually puts me in a good mood. Even if I am in my pajamas and not feeling very energetic, having cute, clean, painted nails and toes makes me feel good about myself.

I am not saying you need to have over the top sophisticated nails all the time. Matter of fact I am repulsed by many new nail trends: pointy nails are just hideous in my opinion, extra long nails are not pretty at all, and this new reversed french manicure trend is not that cool.

Unfortunately, I am a 27 year old woman incapable of painting her nails without painting her skin in the process. I have to go to a nail salon, and since I am never in the same area, I don't have a go to salon. I am always trying a new place, and sometimes those ladies are not very gentle or nice. 

Last place I went, I said hello, but apparently the nail girl was not in the mood to talk, so to avoid any further conversation attempts, she decided to ignore me and didn't say hi back. Not cool!

This other place I went, the nail girl was very chatty, a little too chatty, and trust me I love to talk, but asking me 5 times if I am sure I don't want to get my eyebrows waxed is a bit much, don't you think? OK she was speaking the truth. I needed an eyebrow wax, but I said no the first time, so why the same question four more times? Obnoxious! 

So am I just unlucky? Or am I doing something wrong? Perhaps neither and you have similar stories.

Also does it take you forever to pick a color or do you have to go color you just love and live by? It takes me the longest time ever and I usually spend the entire manicure pedicure regretting my color choice as if it were some sort of life or death decision. I know it is not, but I can't help how I feel. Anyone out there dealing with the same "struggles?"

Imagine dating your computer

Saturday night I went to the theater and saw the movie " HER " by director Spike Jonze and I have to say, even though I liked the movie, it could have been better if someone had introduced us before hand. I could have made it better because we could have used stuff from my book . This is the part where you think I am super full of himself for saying that a Hollywood director should collaborate with me. Rude or not?

A few weeks ago, a flight attendant working with me on a flight to India approached me and asked if she could ask me a personal question. "Sure," I replied. "Don't get me wrong, you are beautiful," she said. I remember thinking "wow it is starting really good - what will follow is going to be really bad." But it wasn't. She noticed I had acne and knew of a treatment to fix it. I laughed and told her to relax. Why would I be offended? I was thankful, and if you ever had acne, you can relate because you probably tried a million of creams and lotions, which all failed, so even a glimpse of  hope meant something. And that's exactly what Carmen gave me: HOPE. However when a stranger approached me yesterday with his business card and said to call him because he had something that would fix my skin, I was a little annoyed.
