Horses First, the Rest Later

Image
Obviously, I love traveling. Not only do I travel for work as a fight attendant, but any chance I get to discover a new landscape, a new city, a new culture, I am right there. Nothing is too far or too close. I am always up for some exploring.  Unfortunately, traveling so much and moving 8 times in the last 10 years has made it hard for me to pursue another of my passion: Horses. It didn’t stop me from riding as much as I could, even in foreign countries, but I was just never able to find that horse sanctuary to go to on the regular like I used to in Tunisia. But I am glad to say that after three major failed attempts this last weekend, I have finally found happiness at Los Angeles Horseback Riding  in Topanga.  Pre Trail: Happy Horses  Post Trail: Happy People the cutest of all  Kissy Time  The Ranch  The phone number to make a reservation : 818 591 2032  You can’t just show up, so make sure you book, a...

Steps to Finding a Husband -- LoL

Image
A few days ago, while on skype with my parents, I had an interesting conversation about how to find a husband with my married cousin, not that I am looking, but that is, apparently, irrelevant. What is relevant is that she is married and needs me to get married so our kids can be the same age and grow up together.   So step 1 is marrying me and for that to happen, she said I had to stop jumping from one island to another because I was not going to find a husband on the beach. I am not sure why I couldn't. I am pretty sure  people that go to the beach get married too.  But she was adamant. She said I had seen enough of the world and had to go to bars and restaurants to meet a man with a job. I guess guys on the beach don't have jobs.  So in a nutshell, for me to end up happily married, I needed to stop doing the stuff I love aka exploring the world and going on spontaneous trips with my girlfriends. Sounds miserable, no?  But then again I am ...

What do you mean by T-O-M-O-R-R-O-W?

I met this guy a few weeks ago at a bar. And no this is not the moment I say our eyes locked and I fell in love ... We bumped into each other, and in the middle of me apologizing for half his drink being on his shirt and shoes, he introduced himself. Note to self: next time I see a cute guy, make sure to pour my drink on him --> great conversation starter.  But back to my story. The guy is cute - yes I am vain, and single - so I talked to him for a few minutes and we go through the usual what do you do, where are you from shenanigans etc etc ... and somehow we get talking about skydiving and other "dangerous" activities. He was so enthusiastic that he interrupted me to tell me how cool skydiving was and that he was dying to do it. So being ever so thoughtful, I offered a quick solution to help him realize his dream. Let's go jump!  But this is how the conversation went down: "- We should go   - Really?    - Yes, why not? They are several sp...

Gone Girl and my Kiwitini

Image
Last night, I watched Gone Girl. Awesome. Super awesome. Good acting, an amazing story, a hot blonde psychopath, a shirtless Ben Affleck: doesn't really get much better. Or maybe it does. I had a Kiwitini in my hand: kiwi, saint-germain and champagne and my seat reclined. Not your average 5 inch airplane recline that you barely feel. It really reclined, and the button to order drinks and food was pretty cool too.   But back to the movie: if you haven't seen it, stop reading, stop doing everything you are doing, go to the nearest theater and thank me later because it is a must see. If you have, then let me pick your brain: tell me how far would you go to get back at your ex? Would you go as far as Amy Dunne? I don't think I have ever hated any of my exes with enough passion or anybody matter of fact to plan their destruction or any kind of extreme suffering. Have you? Don't be shy ... This is when the "anonymous" option in the comment box ge...

LONDON Vs. NYC

Image
If my boyfriend saw the title of this post, he would die. Ok I might be exaggerating a bit. He would only almost die. To him such a comparison is crazy because he is in love with NYC. No I didn't make a mistake, he doesn't just love NYC, he is IN love with NYC. Even when it rains and snows, and everyone else wants to be in Florida, he is happy to be in NYC. For as long as we have been together, I have never heard him complain once about NYC. Me, on the other hand, started a blog called I Hate NYC on my official first day in NYC. As much as his love for NYC had no boundaries, my hate for NYC had no limits. And then I fell in love. With him, and with NYC too. So maybe there is hope for London. Maybe I will get over the fact that most restaurant kitchen close at 9 pm. Maybe I will get over the fact that there was a two hour limit at this Iranian restaurant I went to on Saturday. Food was fantastic, but the two hour timeframe to finish dinner was quite unwelcoming. A...

London you failed me!

Image
London I wanted to love you. I wanted you to be fun, and I especially wanted to prove my boyfriend wrong. But it seems that it is not going to be possible. You do have a lot to offer, don't get me wrong. The picturesque and colorful mews, the abundance of flowers all over your buildings, the fruit and vegetable markets all along Portobello Road, the cute little antique shops, and the beautiful Holland Park. Yes Hyde Park is cool too, but I really love the little Japanese Pond at Holland Park. But when the sun goes down, what I am supposed to do? I am only 26, I have needs. I need to be able to have a drink in a cool bar, but I was denied entry  in both bars I have tried to go to on Saturday night. Neither were full and I was not underdressed, I promise, but I am not a member. So I was not allowed. And of course the only way to be a member is to have a member write you a letter of recommendation. How am I supposed to be recommended by anybody? I don't know anyone. I...
