Paris By Mouth: COSY

Image
I have learned the hard way that me and other people sometimes often have very different views of good food. And yes I will admit I have high standards. That's what happens when your father owns a restaurant with amazing food and you get to order anything you want all the time. You don't like any food. You like the good stuff. And yes I am a bit extreme. I will wait hours for food if it means I get to eat something really good. So when I went to COSY  for the first time, I did a little prayer in hopes that I was going to like the food because the chef in the kitchen is my friend and I didn't want to have to lie to him and tell him I loved his food if I didn't.  But no need to lie to him or anyone else: the food was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C. The menu is beautifully executed French cuisine, however, every dish had something particular about it that will make you remember it.  Take the steak tartare for example: raw meat, mustard, tabasco, ketchup ... that...

Go spend your money in Iceland

Image
Iceland was really one of those trips that just happened. Let me define "just happened."  I met a guy. He said his dream was to go to Iceland. I wanted to go too. A week later, we landed in Keflavik together. And the fun began with non stop activities. And no I didn't end up marrying him. He loved Pop Tarts, I loved Nutella: we were just too different for the long run -:)  But here is what we both loved: Iceland. Whether hiking on the impressive glaciers of Vatnajokull, river rafting the Hivta River or riding Icelandic horses on lava landscape, it was all breathtaking experiences. go whale watching as well  My personal favorite, even though I am very much a horse person, was ice climbing on the glacier. Perhaps it was because I won the race that I loved it so much.  The Blue Lagoon was pretty fantastic too. Yes it is a tourist attraction, but I was a tourist, and really where else can you bath in super war...

Dar Horchani: a true gem in Tozeur

Image
When people hype up a place, I try my best to lower my expectations in my own head as much as I can. Not that I am a pessimist. But I hate being disappointed.  No need to lower your expectations when traveling to Tozeur though: the desert is truly magnificent and imposing, the oasis are beautiful and the mirages are real. As for our guest house, Dar Horchani , it is a spectacular gem in the middle of all this natural beauty. And possibly where I could see myself having a party for my wedding - if I ever find a husband of course.  Check out these pics if you don't take my word for it:  the view from the top main house and pool close up bungalow for 2  bungalow for more with a full palm tree right in the middle  the dining room         The pool doesn't have chlorine neither does the hot jacuzzi. A true pleasure for swimming. As for the food, just terrific. I barely have any pictures of the food - sorry - I w...
