Summer is out, But Rosé is not

Image
Before age 20, the only drink I would tolerate was champagne. But please please please continue reading, I am not a stuck-up spoiled brat, I just didn't like anything else.  Liquor was too strong, beer was too bitter and wine was, well, a big mystery to me. Smoky, fruity, dry. So many complicated words... It was easier to drink bubbles, pink preferably. But now that I have "matured" to the age of 29 years-old, I LOVE wine. I know what I like and don't like, and unfortunately for my liver, my Like list is much longer than my Don't Like list.  However rosé and I never really clicked.  Until a few months ago when I had the pleasure to taste M-G Wine's rosé and literally fell in love. And trust me, I don't use those words lightly. You can ask my ex boyfriends. Apparently I have issues. But back to the important stuff: M-G Rosé blew my mind and it will blow your mind too. This Côtes de Provence wine is light, refreshing and crisp, and ...

Dinner Gone Wrong

Cooking and eating are two big passions of mine. I joke, but really it is true, that it is cheaper to take me shopping than it is to take me out to dinner.  I am the "appetizer, main course and dessert" kind of girl. So when this guy suggested he made dinner at his place for me, I just couldn't refuse. Of course, I had an escape plan in case he was a serial killer, but I had to give it a try. What if he was the one?  But within 5 minutes of arriving, I knew there would be no happily forever for us.  First off the table wasn't set. No placemat, no silverware, and no napkins. Really? So after munching on the opened bag of ...

Paris By Mouth: COSY

Image
I have learned the hard way that me and other people sometimes often have very different views of good food. And yes I will admit I have high standards. That's what happens when your father owns a restaurant with amazing food and you get to order anything you want all the time. You don't like any food. You like the good stuff. And yes I am a bit extreme. I will wait hours for food if it means I get to eat something really good. So when I went to COSY  for the first time, I did a little prayer in hopes that I was going to like the food because the chef in the kitchen is my friend and I didn't want to have to lie to him and tell him I loved his food if I didn't.  But no need to lie to him or anyone else: the food was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C. The menu is beautifully executed French cuisine, however, every dish had something particular about it that will make you remember it.  Take the steak tartare for example: raw meat, mustard, tabasco, ketchup ... that...
